Match Preview: Malaysia vs Ulsan Hyundai

Draw is sufficient to secure place in semis

Malaysia will expect sternest test amongst other teams in Myanmar Grand Royal Cup from 2nd K-League holders,Hyundai Ulsan today. Ulsan have 3 brazillians in the team and it is good thing to Malaysia to learn as much from opponent that known for their attacking flairs, higher skills and fast pace.

Malaysia just need a draw to secure them to semis, but it is not easy as i strongly believe, Sathianathan(Malaysia Coach) will be fielding young players to fill in the boots left for players that are having injuries from the 1st match against Vietnam, like Irwan Fadly Idrus,Aidil Zafuan and Hardy Jaafar and several others like scorers Indra Putra and Amirul Hadi that also have minor injury.

It is blessing in disguise to Sathia as he can test young players like Khyril Muhaimeen (talented winger who always be in 1st eleven for his state but hardly to be in regular for Malaysia), Bunyamin to name a few in international tournament kind of pressures. This match will be great to build confidence in players if they win against Ulsan though this could not be counted to improve our rankings in FIFA.

Post Match Review:
Malaysia 1 vs Ulsan-Hyundai 1

Malaysia 1 vs Myanmar 4

Malaysia had their setback from their last preparation in Myanmar's Grand Royal Cup after being defeated heavily by Myanmar. It was the repeat match for both team after the recent meet in Merdeka Tournament whereby Malaysia cruised to final by defeating by bigger margin too,4-0 but this time around it was Malaysia who was the beaten side.

The losing in big margin perhaps could not be accepted, but any team of the world also had their own humiliation and rise back from it by learning from the defeats. Germany lost heavily 1-4 to England last time, in the match Michael Owen capped hatrik. England were also showed out from playing Euro 2008 after finished 3rd in qualifying group behind Russia and Croatia. To me, it is not too late to fix all issue that still haunted the Malaysia Camp as i know Malaysia Coach, B.Sathianathan has full report what is major weakness that he needs to look into it.

I do not really know who was playing in the match, but if i was in Mr Sathia's place, definitely i will fielded fringe players blended with 2 or 3 core players to be played against Myanmar, to prevent players that currently injured from the last match against Vietnam being played.

Nevertheless, i could not accept this big lost to Myanmar, though it is understandable that they are playing at home turf, playing against team that wanted to revenge from their 4-0 lost to Malaysia and just fielding some fringe players, there was no valid reason to lose humble like that to team that same level to us regardless who you put to don the national jersey.

Back to reality, it was a good experiment to Malaysia if they were fielding the fringe players to experience the pressure playing in front of enormous support from opponents home crowd. In AFF Suzuki Cup, Malaysia will facing the hosts,Thailand and not to forget plus with their hardcore supporters that surely will be good if Malaysia can learn something from the Myanmar's match on how to cope with crowds' pressure. Perhaps, our players mental still not strong enough and Mr.Sathia needs to look into this matter along with the technical part that still need to improvised.

To me, i will look forward into friendly match against Singapore this 29th November at Bukit Jalil. All the best Malaysia! i hope you guys can wake up from the lost and bring back the dignity that has been scratched by Myanmar.
