Have you ever experienced your hard disk totally crashed which you could not able to even login and can only see the Microsoft login process bar?
The worst case, you could not even been able to fix it through OS repair, or repair its bootconfig or even fix its ntldr or ntdetect.com via recovery console?
I have gone through this few weeks back, the weird thing is when i did want to repair its OS (thought that maybe it was due to its OS failure) using the normal ways, boot from OS CD(in this case, the harddisk was installed with XP),so i boot from the XP CD and run through the normal way, press F8 bla bla..and next next, then until the page where it list all partitions in the hard disk.
The hard disk in this case was having 2 partitions,C and D but it does not recognized as C or even D...it is blank but has 2 partitions which status unrecognized volume.
Prior to that, i have tried to repair using recovery console and after failed to see any significant changes,i have decided to look into each partitions using usual command to access partition.
then suppose it will see all the contains inside this partition but i was given a message more or less something like this(could not remember exact words), partition cannot be found.
Then,i tried with another partition, but still been getting the same message.
That time, i was thinking to use Virtuallab data recovery,a tool that can be used if your hard disk is failure and you need the data inside. The issue is, it is not a freeware, though i can get crack to use it as freeware but it was troublesome since the workload i was having at office and the associate that having this hard disk faulty in her laptop really needs the data and proceed with her works.
I thougt if i tried with restoring its imaging in C partition, then it would be able to see as whole drives but still comes to failure,as the imaging cannot proceed by saying that it does not recognized any drives in the laptop.
I wonder what has happened and clueless. Lastly,i have decided to disassemble all parts like ram, and especially the suspected faulty hard disk for a while, disconnect it from the board for a while suspecting it may due to some issue with power distribution to the hard disk.
Why i say that way? Simple, when i brought the hard disk out and make it as external hard disk(thank god i have the SATA to usb cable, i could see the drives which it has confirm me the reason i have mentioned above.
