I still remember during Geography classes i had learnt our country Malaysia have sugar cane pots located in Kedah and Perlis that enough to cater sugar supplies. But same like petroleum whereby the profits gained by national petroleum company does not given back to people of Malaysia equally instead we have to be paid as high as country which does not even have petroleum resources or we called it as net importer country. When this issue brought to Government, they kept comparing fuel prices or sugar prices with Thailand or Singapore. Why cannot we compare our prices with Brazil? They have their own sugar cane field and petroleum fields like we do. Can we?
It is just like you comparing durian price here with durian being sold in Europe or Western part countries!
My headaches are even worst thinking back all goods are skyrocketing but one thing has not, the wage for Malaysian workers. Imagine the starting wage for fresh graduates rm1800 has not changed since a decade but all these goods are not remains the same like decades, how they are going to survive especially living in hustling bustling Klang Valley? It is even worst for them who had study loans either from banks or PTPTN. Can government do something here?
P/s: I observed the goods' price increased in tandem of every time budget roll-out announced government servants will received bonus or whatever cola they have. This is unhealthy practices as it should be given based on merits, meanings if they qualified through KPI like how private sector practising it. CUEPACS, you have more important roles to do instead annually you asked for wage increased or bonus! To private sector employees union, what is your action to increase the starting wage of fresh graduates?
