Road to London 2012 - Draw for Final round of Football Asian Qualifiers has been made

Results of the draw

Malaysia were drawn alongside Asia's powerhouse Japan, Bahrain and Syria in the draw on Thursday for Asian Qualifiers of Men's Olympic Football Tournament London 2012.
Malaysia are the sole representative from Southeast Asia and are ranked last among the 12 Asian teams in the fray.

Group A: Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman
Group B: Australia, Iraq, Uzbekistan, UAE
Group C: Japan, Bahrain, Syria, Malaysia

The winners of each group will qualify for the London Olympics while three runners-up will take part in a playoff at a yet-to-be-determined venue from March 25 to 29 with the winner advancing to a playoff with an African representative.

For the record, Malaysia have only qualified twice for the Olympics – in 1972 (Munich) and 1980 (Moscow).
